ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
The Bilingual Sexual Assault Advocate position offers culturally specific, linguistically appropriate, and trauma-informed advocacy for Latino victims and
survivors of Sexual Assault. by providing crisis intervention, and advocacy, to primary and secondary victims. BSAA Will conduct intakes assessment, 1-1 case management that includes tools and resources, facilitate support groups, assist clients with court support or hospital advocacy, assist with the helpline, referrals to collaborating partners, Focus on building a healthy family lifestyle, and connections that support a higher level of care to begin the healing journey.
JOB POSITION SPECIFIC:
- Provide confidential, trauma-informed crisis intervention, safety planning, support, medical and police accompaniment, court advocacy (both civil and
criminal), resources and referrals for survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. - Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with community partners and members of our multi-disciplinary teams (including but not limited to
members of local law enforcement, district attorneys, emergency departments, child protective services, etc.)· - Serve as primary advocate in providing them with assistance, support, education, recreational activities, crisis intervention, information, referral, and follow-up.
- Provide support and information regarding hospital and police procedures.
- Work with partner staff, hospital staff, SANEs Sexual Assault Nurse exam and law enforcement to ensure the best possible care to clients.
- Assist clients in accessing additional resources and/or safety planning as needed, including information regarding Victims Compensation.
- Work as a team to provide 24/7 coverage for monthly schedule.
- Complete and fulfill assigned/scheduled on call shifts, unless previously approved by Supervisor.
- Help provide debriefing for volunteer crisis advocates during coverage hours.
- Complete all required agency forms and/or documentation required by licensing and funding sources.
- Attend orientation for new employees, scheduled in-service training and complete ongoing annual training requirement as required by agency and funding source.
- Help victims/Survivors by Phone, In Face-To-Face Meetings, Or in Hospital and Court Setting
- Perform Intake and Assessment Procedures with Each Assigned Client.
- Informing Clients/Victims of Their Rights
- Will Respond to Hospital Advocacy on Dates Assigned
- Linkage and Advocacy with the Local School System to Provide For Educational Need
- Participate In the Crisis Line On-Call Rotation Schedule
- Provide Telephone Crisis advocacy And Support
- Some Interpretation Assistance
- Gather information on community resources for client referrals and add to resource file as appropriate
- Build collaborative relationships with community partners in an effort to better assist victims.
- Attend Weekly Staff Meetings And Consultations.
- Maintain weekly/ Monthly client numbers up-to-date and Submit reports on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Develop working relationships with criminal justice system and community leaders, and help educate them as to the goals and objectives of the La Luz Victim
Services. - Perform domestic violence and sexual assault community outreach presentations throughout the year.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Must be bilingual, good oral and written skills in both English and Spanish
· Familiarity with criminal justice system
· Must work well with others
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends
· Computer literate, with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of the OKC Hispanic community, culture and dynamics
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred or Associate’s Degree with 1-2 years of relatable work experience community
Pay is based on experience $16- 18 an hour
The Bilingual DV Advocate position provides culturally specific, linguistically appropriate and trauma-informed Case management to Latino victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and stalking by offering intensive case management either voluntarily or as mandated by the DHS or/and court. Will conduct an intake assessment; provide 1-1 case management to build a Individualize safety plan that includes tools and resources, facilitate support group, assist clients with court support or hospital advocacy, referrals to collaborating partners, Focus on building a healthy family lifestyle, and connections that support a higher level of care to begin the healing journey.
· To provide culturally, linguistically and trauma informed services for Hispanic/Latino victims of Domestic Violence, and stalking
· Maintain an up-to-date referral and resource manual that would include information regarding housing, economic assistance, legal, medical, and community resources
that would benefit La Luz Clients
· Serve as an educator in life skills when clients may need extra education and support
· Assist Clients in obtaining services and completing necessary paperwork for such services as financial assistance, Housing, food, clothing, childcare, etc
· Conduct client follow-up
· Coordinate services, within the confines of confidentiality, in a professional manner when collaborating with other service providers to assist clients and maintain good working
relationships in the community
· Responsibility for Confidentiality: The nature of this work requires safeguarding against the release of confidential and proprietary information of La Luz and its clients.
· Contact with Others: This position will interact with managers at all levels and staff members across the organization, in addition to members of external organizations and the public
· Documentation: Maintains up-to-date and accurate files for each client according to agency guidelines and current professional standards
· Meetings and Training: Attend meetings and training as requested by supervisor
· Other Duties/Responsibilities: Other assistance to support the overall goals of the organization
· Answer 24 hour hotline and provide crisis support and advocacy as needed
· Complete necessary documentation for clients and/or those contacting the Helpline
· Provide crisis intervention support
· Coordinate community outreach
· Create and maintain client files
· Encourage our faith based services to ALL clients

The Lead Team advocate position is responsible in managing the workflow of the team, advocate supervisor provides professional staff support to Advocates ensuring that Latino Victims/survivors involved with La Luz program receive comprehensive advocacy. This role is also responsible for advocate supervision including case documentation review and coordination of cases as well as offering culturally specific, linguistically appropriate, and trauma-informed advocacy for Latino victims and survivors of Sexual Assault. by providing crisis intervention, and advocacy, to primary and secondary victims
JOB POSITION SPECIFIC:
Complete and review documentation to assure compliance with criteria and standards requirements by licensing and funding sources and completes necessary electronic entries and all required agency forms
Understand and adhere to La Luz Employee Handbook and all La Luz a Policies and Procedures.
Keep track that team is meeting grant Goals and Objectives
Making sure advocates input client served numbers and other data in a timely manner
Gather And Report Required Information For Funding Sources
Maintain required annual training hours for the team
Maintain cooperative and communicative relationships with peers, employees, partners and Board as appropriate.
Review that all documentation is in compliance with criteria and standards required by licensing
Ensure advocates offer a trauma-informed approach in interactions with clients and hotline callers
Ensuring advocates perform Intake and Assessment Procedures with Each Assigned Client.
Provide support to advocates regarding their case including problem solving, resource information and guidance.
Provide supervision to all advocates in a monthly base.
Review that advocates are providing victims with assistance, support, education, recreational activities, crisis intervention, information, referral, and follow-up
Participate In the Crisis Line On-Call Rotation Schedule.
Linkage and Advocacy with the Local School System to Provide For Educational Needs
Help victims/ Survivors by Phone, In Face-To-Face Meetings, Or in Hospital and Court Setting when needed.
Lead Support Group
Participate in public speaking, seminars and other community functions regularly as assigned or
appropriate.
Participate in annual special events, including holiday planning and annual fundraising events.
Create an Outreach schedule for advocates to attended,
Encourage staff in regular self-care as a strategy to prevent and address vicarious trauma,
burnout, and compassion fatigue
Interpretation Assistance
Gather information on community resources for client referrals and add to resource file as appropriate.
Establish relationships with community partners or Community Event planners to perform outreach events to meet grant Goals.
Attend Community Meetings that focus on victim Services such as CCRT, SART, OPS, AND ETC
Build collaborative relationships with community partners in an effort to better assist victims.
Plan team building actives
Perform Other Duties As Assigned By Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree in a social service field is strongly preferred Or minimally an associate’s and 3-5 years of advocacy experience s required.
Fluent in Spanish and English.
Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required.
The position will require some evening and occasional weekend work and schedule flexibility to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, this position may office offsite.
Pay is based on experience $37,440-$40,000 a year
